F.A.Q.s
1. Delivery & Shipping
-
How much does delivery cost? We offer a flat-rate delivery fee of £75.00 for all orders within the UK mainland.
-
How long will it take to get my shed? Our current handling time is 1–2 business days, followed by a transit time of 3–6 business days. In total, you can expect your delivery within 4–8 business days.
-
Do I need to be home for delivery? Yes. Because our sheds are large, heavy items, a person over the age of 18 must be present to sign for the delivery.
-
Where exactly will you drop off the shed? Due to insurance and safety regulations, our delivery is kerbside only. This means the driver will unload the parts onto your driveway or the pavement outside your home. We are unable to carry panels into back gardens or through houses.
2. Planning & Preparation
-
Do I need planning permission? In most parts of the UK, garden sheds fall under "Permitted Development" and do not require planning permission, provided they are single-story and under a certain height (usually 2.5m if near a boundary). However, we always recommend checking with your local planning authority, especially if you live in a Conservation Area or a Listed Building.
-
What kind of base do I need? It is essential that your shed sits on a solid, level base. We recommend concrete, paving slabs, or a specialized timber shed base. Assembling a shed on uneven ground (like grass or soil) will cause the frame to warp and doors to stick.
-
Can I put a shed in my front garden? Generally, sheds placed in front of the "principal elevation" (the front of your house) require planning permission. We recommend placing your Luxepatio shed in your side or rear garden
3. Assembly & Maintenance
-
Do the sheds come pre-assembled? No. To ensure they can be delivered to your home, all sheds arrive flat-packed as a kit of pre-cut panels and fixings with easy-to-follow instructions.
-
What tools will I need? You will typically need a drill/screwdriver, a hammer, a spirit level, and a ladder for the roof sections. We also recommend wearing safety gloves to avoid splinters.
-
Do I need to treat the wood? Yes. To maintain your warranty and protect the timber from the UK weather, we recommend treating your shed with a high-quality wood preservative or outdoor paint annually.
4. Returns & Refunds
-
What if I change my mind? We offer a 60-day return policy. As long as the shed is unassembled and in its original packaging, you can return it. Please note that customers are responsible for the return shipping costs for "change of mind" returns.
-
What if my shed arrives damaged? Please inspect the panels upon delivery. If you notice any damage, contact us within 48 hours at support@luxepatio.shop with photos, and we will send out replacement parts immediately.
